The thermal capacity expansion project in Funing City is located in Funing district, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, and it is the first large-scale key project of source-connecting with networks of BUGET outside the Beijing. The construction investment of the project is about 102.1545 million yuan, the total length of the directly buried heat pipe network is about 11.2km, and the maximum pipe diameter is DN800. The pipeline needs to cross rivers, railways, national roads and urban main roads, covering the main design difficulties of the directly buried heat pipe in China at present. In addition, the lack of basic data in the early stage, the pipeline route and buried depth are extremely uncertain.

The first phase of the project started on August 28, 2018, and the owner requested completion by October 31. The heating project is related to the safety of thousands of families for the winter, and the two-month short construction period has put great pressure on the design work. In order to shorten the second design cycle of the project and ensure the smooth completion of the project, BUGET sent several engineers to Funing on August 28 to carry out field design, so as to maintain communication with the construction unit at any time and solve various problems encountered in the process of project advancement.

For nearly two months, the company fully cooperated with the owner to deal with various problems encountered in the construction process, and experienced many difficulties, on October 24, the main heat network pipeline and most of the branch pipeline were successfully completed and began to be flushed with water. The remaining branch pipelines would also be completed before the end of the month. The company will also continue to follow up the trial operation of the subsequent pipeline network to ensure the successful closure of the project.
